So way back in April 2010, I accomplished one of my goals. One of those goals that I always wanted to do but I didn’t know for sure if I would actually be able to do it. I ran a 1/2 marathon. I ran it in 2:32, and my goal was under 2:30. Close, but I wanted to do better! I have never been a fast runner (and I am okay with that!), but last year I ran often with my friend, Chesley. She is a pretty speedy runner and that is great! It makes me want to push harder and run faster, so I love running with her. Well I haven’t done another race SINCE 2010… I got a little burned out on running, was ,work two jobs, and trying to figure out what God wanted our family to look like, so running took the back seat. And I missed it.
So over the last year I have been running. I started with the Couch to 5k program last summer, just to help me ease into running again. Moved from that to training for a 10k. Met that goal. Then started training for a 15K… well, then I got super sick, like kicked my booty, couldn’t run a mile afterwards, sick. So frustrating! So now, here I am. Waiting for our Little Guy to get to come home. I need a project. A goal. That will keep me focused on something other than WAITING! I know this won’t completely distract. That would be impossible, but just something to add into my routine to help pass the time.
So back in 2010 I said I never wanted to run another 1/2 marathon, BUT here I am. Contemplating it… trying to decide if I want to commit and train for the Women’s 1/2 Marathon on September 28, 2013. So on this Texture Tuesday… I am being indecisive… Can I set this new goal?
